Data Interpretation

Data Interpretation mein charts, graphs, aur tables diye jaate hain aur unse data nikalna hota hai. Har exam mein 4-5 questions aate hain. Speed chahiye � chart dekho, calculate karo, answer do.

DI ke types

WHAT

DI mein ek data set diya jaata hai � table, bar graph, pie chart, line graph. Usse 4-5 questions hote hain. Tumhe data read karna hai aur calculate karna hai.

WHEN

Har MNC exam mein 1-2 DI sets aate hain (4-5 questions each). Time management important hai � 5 questions ke liye 5-6 minutes.

WHERE

Pehle pura chart dekho, samjho kya show ho raha hai. Phir questions dekho. Hamesha approximate karo agar exact answer nahi chahiye.

Speed Trick: DI mein har question ke liye full chart mat dekho. Pehle question padho, phir sirf relevant data dekho. 50% time bachega.

Table-based DI

Tables mein data organized hota hai. Reading easy hai but calculation zyada hoti hai:

Bar Graph DI

Bars se comparison fast hota hai. Height se value samajh aa jaati hai:

# 1. Scale check karo � 1 unit = kitna value
# 2. Bars ko compare karo � kaun zyada, kaun kam
# 3. Exact values ke liye grid lines use karo

# Example: 4 bars hain � 20, 35, 50, 45
# Q: Average value?
# A: (20+35+50+45)/4 = 150/4 = 37.5

# Q: Highest is how much more than lowest?
# A: 50 - 20 = 30

# Shortcut for average:
# Total bars � middle value � Total (approximately)
# Exact ke liye sum/count karo

# Percentage increase/decrease between bars:
# From 20 to 35: (35-20)/20 � 100 = 75%
# From 50 to 45: (45-50)/50 � 100 = -10%

Pie Chart DI

Pie chart mein 100% circle hota hai. Har slice ka percentage hota hai:

# Pie chart: Total = 360� = 100%
# 1% = 3.6�
# To find angle: Percentage � 3.6

# Example: Sales distribution
# Product A: 30%, B: 25%, C: 20%, D: 15%, E: 10%
# Total sales = ?500 crore

# Q: Sales of Product B?
# A: 25% of 500 = ?125 crore

# Q: Angle for Product A?
# A: 30 � 3.6 = 108�

# Q: How much more is A than C?
# A: (30-20)/20 � 100 = 50% more

# Shortcut: Agar 2 values same hain toh 50-50 split
# Agar 3 equal hain toh 33.33% each

Line Graph DI

Line graph mein trends dikhte hain � increase, decrease, stable:

# 1. Overall trend dekho � up ya down
# 2. Sharp changes identify karo � sudden spikes/drops
# 3. Compare multiple lines � kaun zyada grow ho raha hai

# Example: Monthly sales

# Trend: Overall increasing with Feb?Mar dip

# Q: Average monthly growth?
# Total growth = 180 - 100 = 80
# Number of months = 4
# Average = 80/4 = 20 per month

# Q: Which month had highest growth?
# Jan?Feb: +20, Feb?Mar: -10, Mar?Apr: +40, Apr?May: +30
# Answer: March to April (+40)

# Percentage change between months:
# (New - Old)/Old � 100
# Feb to Mar: (110-120)/120 � 100 = -8.33%

Pro Tip: DI mein approximation sabse important hai. Agar options 35%, 38%, 42%, 50% hain, toh exact calculation ki zaroorat nahi. 38-42% ke beech approximate karo � answer mil jaayega.

Exercise

Question: Agar Q1 sales: Tata 120, Infosys 100, Wipro 80, HCL 60 � total sales kitni hain crore mein? (Sirf number)

Question: Tata ki Q1 sales 120 crore thi, Q4 mein 200 crore ho gayi. Growth percentage kitna hai? (Sirf number, 2 decimal places tak)

Question: Pie chart mein Product A ka 30% share hai. Circle mein uska angle kitna degrees mein hoga? (Sirf number)

Question: Char values hain: 20, 35, 50, 45. Average kitna hai? (Sirf number)

Common mistakes

Chart ka scale nahi dekhna: Har graph ka scale alag hota hai. 1 unit = kitna value � pehle check karo.
Exact calculation karna jab approximate chahiye: Options dekh ke decide karo. Agar options door-door hain toh approximate karo.
Pie chart mein total verify karna bhoolna: Hamesha check karo sab percentages milke 100% banate hain.
Line graph mein trend miss karna: Overall trend dekho � sirf ek point pe focus mat karo.
